VOB Boek & Media Academie (VOB Book & Media Academy) is the educational institute par excellence for professionals in the book trade and publishing industry. The educational programme of VOB Boek & Media Academie is focused on a number of key target groups: booksellers, book and magazine publishers, public service, companies and other organisations that are professionally involved in publishing.
Mission
VOB Boek & Media Academie aims to provide people wishing to become professionals in the bookselling trade or publishing with information in any form whatsoever and skills in all the different facets of the professional practice.
Vision
Professional knowledge should, to the greatest extent possible, derive from the profession itself. Most of our lecturers are therefore professionals in the industry. For example, the Graphic Design and Production course is given by a graphic designer and booksellers teach the basic modules in Bookselling. VOB Boek & Media Academie trains and prepares the teaching professionals for their educational work in the academy. By doing so, the academy is able to offer its students first-hand professional knowledge with a keen understanding of the practice and with insight into the material and a view to the future. In this way, VOB Boek & Media Academie contributes to the professionalization of the bookselling and publishing industry.
