Virma’s mission is to explore the practical application of new media in the field of contemporary visual art and to make it accessible to the general public. Virma dedicates a great deal of attention to crossovers to the outer edges of the electronic culture. The mutual inspiration stimulated by the exchange of knowledge and experience between the makers, platforms and public serve as the fuel for an ongoing research and production process.

By assuming responsibility for the quality and continuity of those processes, Virma wishes to contribute to the further development and appreciation of eCulture, the new media as an art discipline, and the role of the Netherlands in the international context.
