Studio Jurgenbey
Jurgen Bey is the Rotterdam designer who created a furore in the international design world with his Tree Trunk Couch (‘Boomstambank’). Droog Design included the couch in its collection in 1999. The design was bought by several museums and the designer received a great deal of praise from gallery owners.
The Rotterdam designer does not think in terms of big and small, or even in terms of interior and exterior: Bey’s intentions and experiments are manifested in both large and small assignments, as well as in products that form the fertile ground for the expression of his ‘mentality’ in concrete, tangible results, as well as in ‘immaterial’ projects that are almost entirely ‘free from spatio-temporal limitations’.
