Nederlands Textielinstituut

The Dutch Textile Institute (Dutch: Nederlands Textielinstituut, or NT in short) is an association of engineers, chemists, colourists, economists, etc., who work in the Dutch textile industry. The institute also represents employees of companies and institutions that are linked to textile production. The latter members include employees of fibre production companies, companies that manufacture auxiliaries, textile machine manufacturing mills, teachers and companies.

The NT is a member of the IFATCC (International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colourists) and cooperates closely with Unitex, the Belgian sister association.

Aim

The association also promotes the transfer of knowledge between members, as well as education and training for its members.

The NT endeavours to fulfil its objectives by:

  • Organising oral presentations of actual themes by national or international experts
  • Organising seminars (one day seminars, about two times a year)
  • Organising excursions to textile companies and companies of general interest
  • Distributing information concerning interesting forthcoming events in the Netherlands and abroad via the Internet and by conventional mail.
