Interactive Advertising Bureau Nederland (IAB) is the trade organisation for the online advertising and interactive marketing industry. IAB mainly deals with the professionalization and stimulation of the industry. Its secondary function is to act as an independent knowledge platform and helpdesk for marketing professionals and trade publishers.
IAB Nederland has some 130 members and represents operators, advertising agencies, advertisers, media agencies, TV and media companies, and mobile telephone providers. IAB Nederland cooperates closely with IAB Europa and IAB USA.
Mission
IAB Nederland wishes to promote knowledge exchange in this specialized industry, on the one hand, and to serve as a contact point for various other industry organisations and the trade press, on the other. Above all, IAB Nederland is the qualitative and constructive mouthpiece and partner for the entire online advertising and interactive marketing industry.
IAB Nederland’s primary objective is to provide a structural contribution to the further professionalization and development of the market for online advertising and interactive marketing. IAB Nederland is therefore involved, in close cooperation with a number of industry organisations, in various components of standardization and the establishment of codes of conduct for the industry.
International Ties
Thanks to the bundling of the strengths of its broad diversity of members, IAB Nederland now has access to an extensive body of knowledge and experience. IAB Nederland forms part of a worldwide organisation (in which IAB Europe represents approximately 14 European IABs) and also collaborates closely with IAB USA. One of the major benefits of membership of IAB Nederland is that, thanks to the large international membership, it is possible to seek solutions for local issues from existing solutions to similar international issues. One such example is the successful international IAB lobby at the European Union for the prohibition of email spamming.
