FluXus

FluXus is the Centre for the Arts in Zaanstad. It was founded in March 2000 after the merger of the Municipal Music School, Komma, and the Kunst In School art school. After the merger, the new organisation was baptised as FluXus after the 60s art movement of the same name. The FluXus movement aimed at drawing Art and the broader public audience closer together. FluXus wishes to continue to substantiate those aspirations with its activities today.

FluXus is the centre in Zaanstad where any member of the public can take courses in every possible discipline of the arts. All our classes are given by professional artists who enjoy teaching alongside their professional art activities. We strive to attain quality, reliability and pleasure.
FluXus offers courses for all age groups and at every conceivable level: from beginners to (very) advanced students.

The school offers classes ranging from introductory to in-depth training, extra training, inspiration and, ultimately, it is a place to become inspired by the arts.

FluXus lies at the heart of the cultural life in Zaanstad and collaborates with other cultural institutions in the city. It also executes projects with specific target groups and with specific artistic content.
FluXus works in its own buildings, locally and on location.
