Nederlands Film Festival
Once a year, the Nederlands Film Festival in Utrecht becomes the vibrant focus of Dutch cinema with a programme full of premières of Dutch feature films, documentaries, short films and TV dramas. The festival also offers the cinema-loving public a rich glimpse into Dutch cinema of the recent past.
In 2006, the festival programme was expanded to include an Internet edition: the Nederlands Online Film Festival.
The festival is about more than just cinema: it also offers the public the opportunity to enjoy a wide range of events, including festival parties, talk shows, discussions and seminars. It is the ideal opportunity to meet some of the stars of Dutch cinema. A number of selected films also compete for the top prizes in Dutch cinema, the Gouden Kalveren (Golden Calves) that are awarded at the Gala of Dutch Film, which is broadcast live on the Internet.
