In 2010 the German Ruhr Metropolis, together with the cities Istanbul (Turkey) and Pécs (Hungary), is Cultural Capital 2010. See website www.ruhr2010.de. Several Dutch cultural institutes, sector organisations, independent artists and Dutch cities have joined forces with often German partners to develop plans and projects to be presented in 2010.
GastGastgeber will link all Dutch cultural contributions to the Ruhr2010 manifestation and at the same time fulfill the role of 'guest-host' during the high season of the programme. How, where and when will be revealed after the summer.
The GastGastgeber concept is developed by Dutchmen Lucas Verweij (Berlin), Hans Venhuizen from Bureau Venhuizen (Rotterdam) and Boris Sieverts from ‘Büro für Städtereisen’ (Cologne), for the Dutch Consulate in Düsseldorf.
